"News Network Reaching Over 10,000 in the International Community"

Physicians for Social Responsibility, as part of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, shared the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize for its work on the risks of nuclear war.

Founded in 1961, Physicians for Social Responsibility documented the presence of strontium-90, a highly radioactive waste product of atmospheric nuclear testing, in children's teeth across the United States.

This finding rapidly led to the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty that ended above-ground explosions by the superpowers.

It also began the mission for PSR: addressing enormous public health threats that affect people in America and around the world.

Physicians for Social Responsibility is committed to the elimination of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction, the achievement of a sustainable environment, and the reduction of violence and its root causes.
