LATINA NECESITA CALIDAD EN LA EDUCACION:

El mayor desafío de América Latina y el
Caribe en materia educativa es mejorar el nivel de aprendizaje de los
estudiantes, dice un estudio del Banco Mundial presentado ayer.
Casi
todos los países de la región han logrado que la mayoría de los niños
ingresen a la escuela primaria y han aumentado la matrícula de secundaria y la
formación superior.
El gasto promedio en educación – dice el organismo financiero - pasó del 2,7
por ciento del Producto Interno Bruto en 1990 al 4,3 por ciento en 2003.
Sin embargo, algunos países, en sus esfuerzos por alcanzar la matrícula
primaria universal, dejaron atrás metas vinculadas a la excelencia educativa.
En su informe titulado “Mejorar el Aprendizaje de los Estudiantes en América
Latina: El desafío del Siglo XXI”, el Banco Mundial destacó que la calidad
de la educación influye mucho más en el crecimiento que la cantidad de años
estudiados.
