This conference will bring together students, academics, and community members
to discuss the security threats posed by nuclear weapons and global
warming.
By
exploring these issues in tandem, Securing
Our Survival will provide a unique opportunity for participants to
focus on the interlocking dimensions of nonproliferation and energy policy in a
format that puts leading experts in dialogue with concerned citizens, an online
audience, and one another.
The
conference sponsors—the Matthew
B. Ridgway Center for International Security Studies, Physicians
for Social Responsibility, and the Stanley Foundation—see the gathering as
a vehicle to connect typically isolated conversations about nuclear weapons and the
climate crisis in an accessible fashion that highlights the importance of these issues
for the
survival of our nation and the planet.
