with millions still underserved and at great cost to several of the region’s
national economies.

these issues of vital concern to millions find their way higher up the
region’s national agenda and attract the attention of the G8
leaders?
Can
the 1st Asia-Pacific Water Summit instigate a new course?
Under
former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori’s chairmanship, some of the world’s
leading authorities on water are convening at the 2nd Steering Committee
meeting of the 1st Asia-Pacific Water Summit.
The
Chair is expected to be joined by Mr.
Saif-ud-Din Soz (Minister of
Water Resources of India), Mr. Hu Si
Yi (Vice Minister of Water Resources of China), Dr. Han
Seung-Soo (UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Climate Change /
President of Korea Water Forum), Prof.

Tommy
Koh (Chair of APWF Governing Council / Ambassador-At-Large of Singapore),
Mr. Loïc Fauchon (President of World
Water Council), and Mrs. Margaret Catley-Carlson
(Chair of Global Water Partnership), among others.
